Experience Noh Like a Supreme Ruler: “A Banquet of Hospitality” at Yamamoto Noh Theater
Since ancient times, Noh—originally enjoyed as a refined pastime of the samurai—was often accompanied by exquisite food and fine sake. When Toyotomi Hideyoshi was once invited to the home of his retainer Maeda Toshiie, he was entertained with multiple Noh performances alongside a series of lavish meals.
At Yamamoto Noh Theater, the oldest Noh venue in Osaka, located near the foot of Osaka Castle in Tanimachi, we recreated this historic hospitality in a modern context, offering a premium banquet that blends the elegance of Noh with gourmet dining.

Each Noh performance was accompanied by detailed explanations, making what might seem difficult very easy to understand and enjoy. The food and drinks were delicious, but most importantly, the experience itself was truly special—a night I will never forget.
